Imphal, June 03 2014:
Football coach Soibam Akendra, who is serving as instructor with AFC at present, has drawn the attention of all technical experts in the field of football to share their knowledge and skills to the players after watching the matches FIFA World Cup due to be held at Brazil from 12th June, 2014 .
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Akendra said that the biggest football event will give more benefit than what one expects.
It is very necessary to produce a publication of statistic reports of World Cup by technical experts after witnessing the matches of the World Cup.
The statistic reports will not only help the players to enhance their playing skills but also the teaching techniques of the coaches.
FIFA sent to me the statistic reports of World Cup held in 2002 at Japan and Korea.
Likewise, if we could carry out similar statistic reports with the help of technical experts and organizations related to football and sent them to coaches in all district of the state, it will definitely help in development of football in Manipur, Akendra expressed optimism.
He further said that playing only football will not help in uplifting the game.
It also requires support in many ways.
In connection with the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Akendra informed he has made preparations for watching the long-awaited tournament including keeping petrol in stock for using generator in case of power failure.
Enjoying World Cup at home in group is also good.
But it will be much better for the football loving people to come together and watch the matches on big screens in their respective their localities, he said.
Since childhood, Akendra has great respect for Pele of Brazil, but he also has great liking for Neymar of Brazil.
Though he declines to make any prediction on who would be winner of the World Cup this, Akendra, nonetheless, wished the host country Brazil to retain the title.
