Co-driver trapped

Imphal, August 11 2017:
One driver of a track escaped with injuries when he lost control of his vehicle and fell down a gorge near Irang Bridge, Noney district along Imphal-Jiribam highway at around 9.25 am today but the co-driver is still trapped inside wreckage.
The empty track was heading for Jiribam from Imphal and it was driven by one Narul Ahamed (24) .
Even though he was injured, Narul Ahamed was able to climb out of the track but his co-driver Abdul Hussain (30) has been trapped inside the wreckage.
On learning about the incident, a team of 143rd Bn CRPF led by 2-I/C (Operations) Awadesh Kumar immediately rushed to the spot and carried
out rescue operation.
A press release issued by 143 CRPF Commandant Lai Chand informed that Narul has been taken to Imphal for further treatment after he was given first aid.
Apart from informing local police officials, CRPF troops have been working relentlessly to pull out Abdul Hussain, it added.
