Myanmarese National remanded

A Myanmarese National has been remanded to six days police custody by Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West after he was arrested by Singjamei police from Tulihal International Airport departure gate yesterday.
The individual, identified as Sai Tun Win (34) s/o Uyi Sar of Muse, Myanmar, was produced before the Court by Singjamei police station along with a prayer for six days custody remand.
The Court perused the material on record and informed the ground of arrest to Sai Tun Win and remanded him to police custody for six days.
The police prayer stated that yesterday, at around 2.20 pm,
a complaint was lodged at Singjamei OC by Airport security staff that at around 9.20 am the same day, during checking of IDs and tickets of passengers in the main departure entrance gate, one person identified as Khai Taung with a valid e-ticket for travel to Guwahati by Indigo flight was detained.
During checking of the e-ticket, some inconsistencies were found in his driving license details and the Airport staff immediately informed other staff for further verification of the passenger's driving license.
During the course of verification, the Airport, security staff found one driving license issued by Myanmar Government in the name of Sai Tun Win and one passport of Republic of Union of Myanmar of the same name in possession of the detained individual.
During the inquiry, the detained individual revealed his name as Sai Tun Win of Muse, Myanmar and that he came to Imphal through Moreh by road and planned to travel to Kolkata via Guwahati.
Sai Tun Win further stated that one of his relatives from Manipur provided him an e-ticket to travel to Kolkata by air in the name of Kai Taung and to match the name mentioned in the ticket, they also made one fake driving license with his photo.
On further inquiry, he produced one passport of Republic of Myanmar in the name of Sai Tun Win and his Visa was found to have already expired on April 22 this year and he also could not produce any documents regarding the extension of his Visa.
Hence a case was taken up by Singjamei police and reseized the documents including the e-ticket and driving license and during the preliminary interrogation, Sai Tun Win disclosed that the fake driving license issued by DTO Churachandpur on August 20, 2015, in the name of Khai Taung s/o Khup Lian of New Lamka CYA road, Churachandpur, was given to him by one of his local friends at Myanmar.
On investigation, it was found that the photograph affixed on the fake driving license tallied with the individual as well as the photograph affixed on the seized passport and the Myanmar driving license in his name.
The police prayer further stated that it was also revealed the individual had entered India through fake documents and thei;e is an important need to find out the individual's purpose for entering the country.
