Producers threaten pirates with legal action

Plus Media Production, the firm behind Manipuri feature film, Keishal Jail Dugi Fadoksing, has threatened to take up necessary legal actions against those involved in pirating the film
unless they come clean.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the producer of the film, Suijit Haobijam said that the film had already premiered at BOAT on October 23, 2015 but some individuals had recorded the film with the help of mobile phones.
He pointed out that the film faced some hurdles and problems due to which it was not shown in theatres and the production house also failed to take up any action against the pirated copies.
Suijit further urged those involved in pirating the film to come clean before August 31 and threatened to take up necessary legal actions under the Indian Copyright Act if the pirates failed to heed the warning.
He stated that the film was re-edited and some changes were made and formally released yesterday at MFDS, Palace Compound.
"A sum of Rs 20,000 was collected from yesterday's event was donated to the CM Relief Fund", Suijit added.
