Two victims of snake bite were saved by the timely aid provided by 22 Maratha Light Infantry posted at Tulihal Airport.
Both the two victims� Rajesh Taorem (23) of Malom Bazar and Sougrakpam David (26) of Mongshangei Maning Leikai were brought to the medical room of the post after they were bitten by snakes with symptoms of snake poisoning yesterday at different hours, informed a press release issued by Hqs IG AR (S).
While the former patient was allowed to go home after giving treatment, the latter was kept under observation of Capt T Lhoujem, Regimental Medical Officer even after administering anti-snake venom.
He was sent home only after his condition was out of danger, it added.
On the other hand, victims of a road mishap were provided first aid by 18 AR personnel posted at Lokchao.
The AR personnel also assisted in evacuating the victims to Moreh.
The victims were coming to Imphal from Moreh in an autorickshaw (MN 01 J 1359) before the vehicle met with an accident near Lokchao yesterday, informed the PRO.
