Agreement with AMCTAinked, claims Govt

An understanding was reached between the Government and All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) after a meeting at the office chamber of Education Minister yesterday.
As per the agreement, the responsibilities for proper conduct of BA semester exams in respect of Oriental College has been entrusted directly to the earlier Principal i/c, Th Biren Singh with immediate effect as the newly appointed regular Principal has not joined till date, according to a statement issued by the Dy Secretary (Hr&TechEdn).
The two newly appointed regular Principals have taken leave for one month and the responsibilities of the two colleges - Manipur College and Lilong Haoreibi College for proper conduct of BA semester exams have been entrusted directly to the earlier in-charge Principals, Kh Jayanta Singh for Manipur College and K Kunjani Devi for Lilong Haoreibi college with immediate effect.
The Director (Hr Edn) has been directed to look into the issues raised by AMCTA including holding discussions within one month and to submit a report to the Govt for its consideration.
The Govt has also decided to put on hold the process of appointing 22 regular Principals before the completion of this exercise.
AMCTA has also endorsed its support to the proper process for regular appointment of Principals in all the 28 Govt colleges of the State.
AMCTA has further agreed to take all necessary action to conduct the BA semester exams in all Govt colleges and also assured that the two colleges, Manipur College and Lilong Haoreibi College would be given full support by AMCTA in the proper conduct of the exams, it added.
