CM directs departments to utilize 60% plan amount by Dec

Following the plan review meeting of the state government held on October 16 last with the Chief Minister of Manipur as Chairman, another meeting held today affirmed that out of Rs 1022.30 Crore sanctioned by the Centre, only 30 percent has ben utilized by November this year.
In the meeting participated by Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, Commissioners and Heads of Departments, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi advised the Finance department officials to release money, if the procedure is right.
He further directed all concerned to utilize upto 60 percent by December this year.
It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister who also holds the Finance portfolio placed the plan amount for the year 2014-15 as Rs.3200 crore.
However, out of the amount, Union Finance ministry has so far released only Rs 1022.30 Crore.
According to reliable sources, not a single amount has been released for the Special Plan Assistance (SPA) for which an amount of Rs 450 Crore has been earmarked.
Consequent to the abolition of Planning Commission by Narendra Modi Government at the centre, the plan size for next financial year has not been fixed even only four months are left for the end of the current financial year.
However, the Union Finance Ministry has been releasing the plan amounts regularly.
