Sharing his sentiments over the imposition of ban on Manipuri woman boxer Laishram Sarita by the International Boxing body AIBA, Body Builder Khundrakpam Pradipkumar urged the concerned authority to lift the restriction put on such a promising player like Sarita and also to enable her to continue her feats in various upcoming International events.
As part of Hueiyen Lanpao Daily's endeavour to seek comments and opinions from various sports personalities during the last few days, this Daily had the opportunity to have a tete-e-tete with this eminent bodybuilder today.
Even though Sarita's reaction at Incheon Asian games medal ceremony was deemed to be an act of indiscipline, her suspension from sports career is harsh, said Pradipkumar who appealed to the Manipur government and the India government to pursue the matter to concerned authority to lift the ban.
He continued that Sarita had already regretted her attitude and she was even disallowed to take part in the World Women Boxing Championship.
Now, there is no more punishment she deserves.
Suppression of the sports career of a promising woman boxer in an authoritarian manner is conemnable, Pradipkumar commented and demanded that justice should be meted out to Sarita by investigating the lapses on the part of judges and she should be allowed to join Olympics 2016 .
