Thang-Ta Day celebration continues

As a part of the ongoing celebration of Thang-Ta Day (which falls on November 15) which is held under the theme 'Thang-Ta for Social Change', a religious procession was carried out today.
The procession was jointly organised by the Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) and Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee and it started from the KIMACS, Head Office till Sanamahi Kiyong sacred complex located at Seloi Langmai Ching to seek the blessing of Lainingthou Sanamahi, said a press release issued by KIMACS.
Around 200 (two hundred) Thang-Ta artists, teachers and well wishers from different places across the State attended the procession which was flagged off by Thingbaijam Ibohalbi, president of Thang-Ta Loishang, Sana Konung.
The procession was carried out with an aim to instill the importance of traditional beliefs and customs among the youths to strive for a developed and peaceful society.
Later a public meeting was also convened at Sanamahi Kiyong sacred complex which was graced by N Ningthemjao, president LSTK, Thounaojam Sonamani, Chairman of Foundation for University of Sanamahi Culture, Th Ibohalbi, N Ajitkumar, president KIMACS and convenor Thang Ta Observation Committee, L Dhamendro, advisor KIMACS and vice chairman, TTDOC as the presidium members.
