Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Imphal, Haokip Students' Organization (HSO), Manipur, United Naga Council and Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) have condemned in the strongest term the killing of Ts Thongkhogin Haokip alias Ts Agin (54) s/o Ts Holkhojang Haokip of Molnom village, Chandel district at Aimol Satu village in the evening of February 28 .
The deceased Ts Thongkhogin Haokip, an assistant teacher at Molnom Junior High School was kidnapped and beaten to death by suspected militants while returning from Pallen Bazar after selling domestic cattle.
In a statement, HSO said the intention behind the killing of an innocent teacher is clearly to inflame communal hostility.
The HSO has taken the issue seriously and said it will democratically fight and raise its voice against the bloodshed committed.
The HSO also urged the public not to misunderstand the eruption of aggression in the area after the incident and added that it is between a militant group and infuriated villagers and not between two communities.
The HSO urged the State Government to book the killers within 24 hours as assured during the joint meeting held on Feb 29 and added it will not remain a silent spectator in case the Govt fails to fulfil the demand.
The United Naga Council (UNC) in a statement strongly condemned the Aimol Satu incident where a school teacher was beaten to death by unidentified persons on February 29 .
Such unwanted and barbaric act of any group or individual cannot be justified for achieving one's objectives when people are crying out for communal and ethnic harmony, said UNC in the statement.
Appealing to all concerned to maintain calm and restraint, TSA, Imphal in a separate statement, urged the State Govt to book the perpetrators at the earliest.
TSA urged all concerned to condemn such unwarranted and inhumane acts so that the same does not recur in the society.
TSA also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family.
In a separate statement, KSA termed the act of killing the teacher as 'insane.' It demanded the immediate arrest of the killers of the teacher.
It further said that people, irrespective of community divide, should come forward to teach a lesson to the perpetrators of such crimes.
It further urged the State Home Dept to beef up security for the panic stricken Molnom villagers.
