Imphal, April 28 2009:
Okram Ibobi today said that there is no reason for conducting re-polls as the complaints were not lodged on the day of polling.
He was giving his comment on the demand for re-poll at certain polling stations in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency where election was held on April 22 .
Chief Minister Ibobi said, the polling on the day was not held secretly.
Polling personnel performed their duties assigned to them by the election office in the presence of polling agents of the respective candidates at each polling station who could intervene and protest against any irregularity during the polling hours.

If an irregularity found during the polling process, complaint should be made immediately so that police could register an FIR case for necessary action as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, he said.
When no one had lodged complaint on the day of polling and all political parties went on complaining after the polling,it will not be possible for the election authority to entertain the complaints, Ibobi maintained.
The election to the Inner Parliamentary Constituency concluded peacefully in a manner which was not witnessed in the past, the Chief Minister said and described it as an "historic event".
The election authority also declared that the election in the state has concluded peacefully by and large.
To conduct or not to conduct re-poll is not the responsibility of the state government.
It depends on the decision of the ECI, Ibobi told media persons during his site inspection tour at JN Hospital today.
The proposed Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) will surely commence from this year, he assured.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the preparatory ground works for the construction of girls and boys hostels at the PDA complex, Porompat.
He also inspected the progress works of construction of private wards of the hospital by the state PWD as work agent.
He expressed dissatisfaction on the mode of working.
He further inspected construction work of another 200 bedded ward of the same hospital which made him angrier and said that PWD authority should assured the people of coming an updated building.
Works should be taken up with full quality control, he instructed.
