Imphal, June 27 2013:
Zeliangrong Baudi, All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AMN), Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) and Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur have urged Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged cold blooded killing of six NSCN (K) cadres at Songlung village on June 22 in a fake encounter and illegal detention of Rajanglung Kamei, (Capt) of NSCN (K) since June 22 by personnel of 10 AR post at Noney in Tamenglong district.
A memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister by the Zeliangrong bodies pointed out that the six cadres of the NSCN (K) went to the AR camp at the invitation of Col Ajay Sharma of 10 AR for a discussion on June 18 and June 21 .
The 10 AR personnel had taken the cadres to Songlung village under Sapermeina PS in Senapati district, more than 50 km away from Noney (Longmai) AR camp.
On June 23, the AR informed through the media that six cadres of the NSCN (K) were killed in an encounter at Songlung village while also claiming to have recovered arms and ammunitions from the slain cadres, the memo highlighted.
Pointing out that all Naga revolutionary groups including NSCN (IM), NSCN (K) and NSCN (KK) have not been treated as unlawful organisations since they entered into a ceasefire agreement with the GoI, the memo asked if there had been any clandestine directive from the GoI to eliminate Naga armies anywhere any time in order to demoralise them and the Naga public.
Speculating psychological torture through the security forces, the Zeliang-rong bodies said that Col Ajay Sharma, his subordinates and personnel of 10 AR have been earning cheap popularity through series of fake encounters in the recent past.
The Zeliangrong bodies have also strongly condemned the killing of the six cadres in alleged fake encounter.
It also recalled the killing of a ZUF cadre, Guangsin-lung Dangmei at near Shangji village on Dec 31, 2012 after he was picked up from Khumji, a distance of about 50 kilometre.
The memo also mentioned that another cadre of NSCN (K), Rajanglung Kamei is still in the custody of 10 AR after he was invited to the camp on June 22 .
