With Czech technology, Salai Holdings to set up poultry and beer brewery projects

Instilling an impetus to boost the industrial revolution in Manipur, Salai Holdings Pvt Ltd has finalized contracts with two key Czech Republic companies to set up a beer brewing project in neighbouring Assam and a jumbo 'organic' poultry project in the State.
Bauer Technics will handle Salai poultry project costing 1650000 Euros while Technoexport will give technology to Salai's beer project namely 'Wanglei Brewery' with a total estimated cost of 3733000 Euros, A statement of Salai Holdings said that the Czech multinational companies Will give technology and designs of the projects to Salai's new challenging ventures.
With this, Salai has inked deals and finalized bank formalities for the three mega projects with different Czech companies in the last few days at Prague, the first being with Mavel for setting up a hydel power project at Sekmai barrage in Imphal West, it said.
The contract agreements said that the beer project namely "Wanglei Brewery" would be set up at the North East Mega Food Park, Tihu, Assam by Salai Agro Pvt Ltd and its annual targeted production capacity is 25000 hi with an option to increase to 40,000 hl in future.
Ngarengbam Samarjit, Salai chairman and managing director who signed the contracts at Pargue said that Wanglei Brewery is targeting to produce its first two qualities of world famous Pilsner type of beer in the mid 2020 .
Coming to the poultry project, Salai Agri Pvt Ltd will set it up at Bishnupur district's Thinungei area.
"Our key target to set up the poultry project is to produce the most delicious and multi nutritional value filled organic poultry products - meat and eggs for making a healthy society," said Samarjit.
He said that the local poultry farmers will be encouraged by sharing the new technology to them so as to ensure that they also attain similar benefits.
Salai has no tendency to demoralize the local chicken farmers, he said and added that the farmers will be supported to flourish the project for a better future.
He said the company is targeting to rear the delicious local chicken breed known as 'Meitei Yen' .
Salai has already acquired 50 hectares of land at the project site where an artificial lake is also set up, Samarjit said while maintaining that six big chicken rearing halls are set up with a rearing capacity of 1.5 lakh chicken per hall.
The chicken feed would be imported from Vietnam and the production target is 9 lakh poultry birds per year, he said.
Top executives of Bauer Technics maintained that the rearing technology which would be given to Salai encompasses engagements of experts including veterinary doctors at the project site.
