Willong circle bats for BRO

Protesting against the proposed handing over of the developmental works of the newly recognized National Highway-129/A (Maram-Peren road) to the State's PWD, Willong Circle villages has warned the State Government that the move could invite rows of protest form the people, our correspondent reports.
According to Willong Circle officials, the Maram-Peren road (now NH-129/A) had been effectively maintained by BRO/GREF in the past winning approvals and commendations for quality maintenance.
The circle voted for BRO to handle the developmental works of NH-129/A against the State PWD with its alleged record of poor work strategy as witnessed in its execution of the NH-2 project.
It also lauded BRO for developing the said road stating that its works are trusted and appreciated by the locals.
Questioning the motive of the State Government in handing over the project to PWD, Willong Circle has warned that the locals of the circle will not remain silent over the move and added that it will take every possible steps to fulfil their demands.
The circle has further appealed to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi to hand over the developmental works of the said highway to BRO for efficient and better maintenance.
Willong circle consist of more than 10 villages along NH-129/A .
