BJP Mao Mandal organised a one-day political awareness camp cum mega online enrolment campaign at the community hall of Paomata Tungam Afii village yesterday.
Speaking at the occasion, State BJP leader Woba Joram said that BJP would win majority in Mao ADC as the party has capable candidates.
Village chiefs, community leaders and villagers from different parts of Mao ADC, which has nine ADC segments, took part in the camp.
Later, probable BJP candidates of the upcoming ADC election in Mao ADC were introduced to the gathering one by one.
Woba Joram, who is planning to contest the next Assembly election on a BJP ticket, said that his party would be able to carry out electioneering smoothly as there is no restriction against his party in the hill districts now.
Saying that BJP is gaining popularity in most parts of the country, Woba Joram expressed confidence that the saffron party would win majority with a big margin in the next ADC and Assembly elections of the State.
Stating BJP is gaining popularity in the hill areas of Manipur as well, Woba Joram said that he has joined the party to bring a developmental change in the hill districts.
He said that BJP would win majority in the next Assembly election if people support the party in the upcoming ADC election.
Taking a dig at the Congress, Woba Joram said that the present Congress Government has not been able to bring any developmental change in the hill districts even after they have ruled the State for 13 years.
Saying that BJP is not an anti-Christian political party, Woba Joram accused Congress of spreading such wrong notions against BJP.
BJP State vice-president I Mangiton, former MLA M Bhorot, S Ibohal, Core Committee member S Tiken and State secretary Marga Tamang were also present at the awareness camp.
