Ishok villagers avail free health check up, medication

National Rural Health Mission Manipur conducted a District Health Mela at Ishok village, Bishnupur District on Wednesday.
During the free health check up camp, hundreds of villagers turned up for medical consultations with specialists in the field of medicine, pediatrics, ENT, surgery, psychiatry, dental and gynae.
The villagers also availed free ultrasound check up, blood tests and X Ray during the camp.
Free medicines were also distributed to the villagers.
Besides District Tuberculosis Control Society, District Leprosy Society; Malaria; District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit opened stalls to provide awareness to the public during the camp.
Ng Hemantakumar, Chief Medical Officer Bishenpur District; Ramananda Nongmeikakpam, SDO Nambol and L Suranjoy of People's Resource Development Association, Bishnupur who were part of the organizing committee presided the inaugural function of the Health Camp.
Hemantakumar said that once in a year, every district in the State conducted District Health Mela and it is an outreach service targeting the place where there was lack of medical facility.
