Imphal, November 22:
Taking strong exception to the failure of the State Government pay salaries of employees under the six Hill District Councils of Churachandpur, Tamenglong, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Ukhrul and Chandel since July this year, the All Manipur District Council Teachers Association (AMDCTA) has decried the alleged indifference of the State Government towards its woes.
A press release issued by AMDCTA president Wichong Pamei observed that non-payment of salaries to District Council on the pretext of incomplete MGEL list only shows the incompetency of the State Government.
Stating that general employees of the State have been allowed to enjoy 10 percent DA increment and 11 percent pay increment since January this year, it questioned as to why the teachers under District Councils are being deprived of such benefits.
Further, the general employees have been entitled to 14 percent arrear in their GPF accounts which is also being denied to teachers under District Councils, it mentioned while condemning the alleged discriminatory attitude of the Government.
