NCP MLA meets Union Minister on border issue

President of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Manipur State and MLA L Ibomcha Singh has discussed the present crucial issues of Indo-Myanmar border with Praful Patel, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha and in-charge of North Eastern States (NCP) during his recent visit at Guwahati.
According to a press release of NCP, Singh discussed the matter pertaining to the missing of original boundary pillars on and along the Indo-Myanmar border encroaching more than 10 kms upon the territory of Manipur, resulting a serious dispute between the two countries, with Patel at MNC Bhawan, Guwahati on September 29 .
The Minister was fully convinced and seized the matter and assured Singh that he would lobby the matter seriously with Prime Minister, External Affairs Minister and other concerned Union Ministers in the interest of the people and the State of Manipur, so that any areas of Manipur should not be ceded to Myanmar and territorial boundary of Manipur should be protected after observing internationally agreed norms "No Man's Land", the release stated.
It said, the MLA also handed over a memorandum on behalf of NCP and people of Manipur to the Union Minister.
