Jiribam, October 01 2013:
With regard to not filling up of deficient posts of teachers in various schools of Jiribam, AMSU District Committee, DESAM Local Council, KSA Jiribam Branch and MSF Special Branch have started launching agitation.
Addressing this in a press conference, the student bodies expressed dissatisfaction over the inaction of the Government after an inspection conducted by its representative and making assurances.
Student leaders recalled the visit of Addl Director Edn (S) Valley, Ranjan Yumnam on August 24 during which the 4 student bodies urged to fill up the deficient posts of teachers in the sub-division.
As the Addl Director had assured to send the required teachers by September, the student bodies have not been taking up agitation.
"The inaction and silence of the Govt even when October has come is a sign of forsaking Jiribam and unwilling to provide proper education to its students" .
As teachers are transferred from Jiribam, utilised at Imphal and not sending required teachers, the students started launching first form of agitation by wearing black badges, the student bodies informed.
"Further agitations will be launched and the Govt should hold responsible for consequences" .
