Imphal, November 17 2019:
Claiming that some privates schools operating in the State are teaching additional books which are not recognised by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) 'to earn some easy money,' Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has urged the authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
A press release of the DESAM said that the addition of the subjects not prescribed by the BOSEM has added to the burden of the students and parents.
Asserting that this practice of some schools with vested interest benefits only the school authority and book sellers, DESAM said the schools concerned should drop the subjects (books) at the earliest.
Though there is ban on such practice by BOSEM, some private schools are making the additional books compulsory, it claimed and questioned if the BOSEM is unaware of the 'unethical business'.
Urging all concerned to stop such practice and teach only the textbooks prescribed by the BOSEM in their respective schools, DESAM warned all concerned to take full responsibility of any eventualities in case they ignore its appeal.
