69th INA Flag Hoisting Day organised

Paying of floral tribute to the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, public rally and raising patriotic slogans, unfurling of the Tricolour, and cultural show marked the 69th Anniversary of Flag Hoisting Day at Moirang today apart from a function to mark the occasion.
The main function to mark the 69th Anniversary of Flag Hoisting Day was jointly organised by the Department of Art and Culture, Manipur and INA Advisory Committee at INA Martyrs' Memorial Complex, Moirang with a blend of patriotic fervour and cultural extravaganza.
According to a statement, the observance programme was graced by MLA of Moirang AC, M Prithiviraj and Director of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur, Dr K Sobita as the chief guest and president respectively while Ex-MLA, S Gopal; Activist H Bira; Vice President of Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad, Maj Gen (Retd) NN Gupta; National Secretary of ABPSSP, Dr Om Prakash were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA M Prithiviraj said that the Ministry of Tourism has approved the sanction of Rs 27 crore for renovation and development of INA Memorial Complex and its surrounding areas.
He added that Rs 12.7 crore of the approved amount has been deposited to the State's Tourism department, it said.
He said that the inconveniences faced by tourists in paying a visit to INA Memorial Complex would be minimised after the completion of construction of Moirang Thangjing Guest House.
The MLA also stated the need to include the significance of April 14 in the school curriculum, according to the statement.
A public rally was also taken out from the INA Headquarters located at Moirang Konjengbam Leikai to the INA Memorial Complex wherein the participants raised patriotic slogans.
Students of Beyanai College, Jaipur and ECHO Moirang have enthralled the gatherings with their cultural performances.
Around 200 members of the Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad have attended the function.
