Imphal, July 09 2015 :
Due process has been initiated to identify the officials responsible for claiming in Manipur Tourism and Nagaland Tourism websites as well as in one issue of the Indian Tourism Development Council's journal that major portions of Dzuko Valley belong to Nagaland.
This was stated by Chief Minister O Ibobi in response to a call attention motion raised by L Ibomcha.
On learning that certain areas of Dzuko Valley were uploaded on the website of Nagaland Tourism, a letter of objection was sent and subsequent upon the letter, the particular areas have been removed from the website, Ibobi informed the House.
There is a map of the inter-State boundary with the Surveyor of India.
As for the Indian Tourism Development Council, they were just publishing data and information sent by different States in their journal.
It is being checked who were responsible for uploading certain areas of Dzuko Valley on the website of Nagaland Tourism.
Construction of two 7 Kms long roads from Maram Centre and Makhan to Dzuko Valley has been started under PMGSY.
The two roads would merge together at Pudunamei.
Another road which would connect Pudunamei to Dzuko Valley is also under construction, Ibobi claimed.
Although it has been accepted that 70 per cent of Dzuko Valley belongs to Manipur while the rest 30 per cent lies in Nagaland, a journal published by ITDC recently claimed that major portions of Dzuko Valley belong to Nagaland, Ibomcha said while raising the call attention motion.
This has all the potential to project parts of Manipur's territory as belonging to Nagaland, Ibomcha said.
