Imphal, September 06 2019:
The Bulk LPG Transporters, Owners and Representatives Association has categorically stated that they would not support the All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association's decision to launch cease work strike from tomorrow.
Speaking to media persons at Keishampat today, Bulk LPG Transporters, Owners and Representatives Association secretary Elam Robindro said that the proposed cease work strike is in contravention of IOC's and NIT's guidelines and they have no intention to cause unnecessary misery to the masses.
As the IOC has notified that necessary action would be initiated if bulk LPG transport service is suspended, the Bulk LPG Transporters, Owners and Representatives Association would carry on their normal service, he said.
He went on to claim that there is plenty of LPG in stock at Sekmai bottling plant as maximum number of bullet TTs have been transporting LPG regularly.
Suspension of LPG transportation on the demand of inducting around 90 bullet TTs which are kept on waiting list as per the tender held last year would go against the interest of people, Robindro said while appealing to all concerned to revoke the call for cease work strike.
During a meeting held on August 24 this year at Hotel Nirmala, IOC officials made it clear that the existing fleet of bullet TTs is quite sufficient.
Nonetheless, he appealed to all bullet TT owners to wait for sometime before additional bullet TTs are inducted, Robindro said.
It would not be right for the All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association to speak only about last year while overlooking what transpired during the meeting held on August 24 .
There is no harm for the All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association to urge the IOC and the State Government to induct additional bullet TTs but launching cease work strike would amount to victimising the public, he added.
