The annual post harvest festival of Chakan-Gan-Ngai was celebrated at Longrang (Nungneng) village in Nungba sub-division with joy and fanfare from December 5 to 9, informed a press release issued by Oriental Cultural Integration, Nungba Bazar.
The five day long post harvest festival featured singing competition in girls' dormitory (Luchu), traditional sports competition and ignition of sacred fire.
The main event of the festival was held on the third day which was marked by admission of new members for dormitories.
This was followed by music and dance programmes and a joint feast on the fourth day.
The festival culminated with Rang Pammei (gate ceremony) on the fifth day, added the release.
