AMADA asks 'drug owner' to apologise

President of All Manipur Anti Drug Association (AMADA), M Padmini Leima has stated that the owner of the drugs seized from Tulihal Airport on January 11 worth more than Rs 1 crore should disclosed his identity to the public and apologise for his wrongdoing before AMADA makes a public revelation of his identity.
Padmini Leima was speaking in a One-Day Awareness Programme on Prevention of Drug Abuse and Trafficking organised jointly by AMADA and Meitram Awang Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Lup at the conference hall of Beneficial Club, Meitram Awang today.
She said that AMADA has enough hints on the identity of the owner of the drugs seized on January 11 by Narcotics Cell, Imphal West.
So, before AMADA discloses it publicly, the owner should come out voluntarily and apologise to the people for his wrongdoing to avoid any unwanted incident in future.
She further said that the announcement of AMADA to award The Marvel�Athouba title to Inspector K Ranjit, who led the Narcotics team while seizing the drugs, is a sincere approach towards saving the society from the menace of drugs as well as to recognise his spirit and dutifulness.
AMADA does not have any relation with Inspector Ranjit and the award is just in recognition of his sincere duty.
Secretary HRD of AMADA Head Office Tombi Leima; Superintendent of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Regional Unit Imphal RK Ibungosana and Psychiatrist Dr H Angomcha of Bishnupur District Hospital also talked on various topics related to drug and substance abuse and their impact in the society on the occasion.
President of Meitram Awang Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Lup Laishram Ibembi Leima and Ex-Nyai Huidrom Angouba attended the programme as presidium members.
