Opposition to back CM on Chandel Molestation Case

The opposition parties of the State have unanimously decided to support Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh during the proposed meeting of a delegation of all Political Parties with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister at Delhi on January 16, in connection with the Chandel molestation case, if the Chief Minister takes a definite stand on the issue of territorial integrity of Manipur.
The decision was taken during a joint meeting of the Opposition parties at Irabot Bhawan here today.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, the Opposition parties also decided to raise a number of issues prevailing in the State.
A draft proposal from the side of the Opposition parties in this regard has also been finalized during the meeting today, informed a reliable source.
The source disclosed that apart from discourse on the public demand for arresting Livingstone, who allegedly molested film actress Momoco during a musical concert at Chandel district headquarters on December 18, by the Central Government and handing him over to the State Government for taking up necessary legal action in accordance to the law of the land, the meeting minutely deliberated on the various issues prevailing in the State.
Accordingly, it was decided to back Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh during the meeting between the delegation of all political parties of the State .with and the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister at Delhi, provided Ibobi sticks to his assurance of safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The source also disclosed that a meeting of the all Political Parties has been convened in the office of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam located at Old Secretariat building at 3.30 pm tomorrow to finalise the draft report to be presented with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister and the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister at Delhi, provided Ibobi sticks to his assurance of safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The source also disclosed that a meeting of the all Political Parties has been convened in the office of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam located at Old Secretariat building at 3.30 pm tomorrow to finalise the draft report to be presented with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.
