Farmers' training programme at Kangpokpi

A one day farmers' training programme on 'IPM/INM of Rabi Crops' has been organised simultaneously at Gopibung, Champhai Block and Nungphou village of Kangpokpi sub-division today.
According to a statement issued by Project Director ATMA (Senapati) M Gojendra Singh, 50 farmers participated in each of the training programmes during which rabi seeds such as mustard, pea and (rabi) maize were also distributed to the farmers, along with TA/Da provision of Rs 100 each.
It is said that the training of farmers is being conducted in 12 ATMA blocks of the district and that field exposure trips for 80 farmers would be conducted on January 19 .
The visit will cover cultivation sites in the valley district and updating them on the new technologies, maintained the release while adding that KVK, Thoubal Program Coordinator Dr M Thoithoi Singh and Th Nimaichand of Plant Health clinic, Sanjenthong were the resource persons in today's training programmes.
K Ibohal Singh also spoke on the method of cultivation of Rabi Maize, said the release.
