KRA-U draws government's attention

The Kuki Revolutionary Army-Unification (KRA-U), which is a signatory of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the State and the Central Government, has appealed to the State government to release their stipends and all funds for developmental works in the accounts of United People's Front hereafter.
The KRA-U, which was earlier under Kuki National Organisation (KNO), left the group and later emerged itself under United People's Front (UPF).
Addressing media persons at an undisclosed place, Ronal Kuki, Defence Secretary, KRA-U said that owing to difference of opinions among different groups under KNO and the dictatorship policy pursued by the leaders of the group, KRA-U came out of KNO.
According to the official record maintained by the government of Manipur, there are 21 cadres of KRA-U who are given stipend by the government.
But unfortunately the stipends and all other funds for developmental works of KRA-U are being misused by KNO.
So, the government should transfer the amounts of the stipends and developmental fund in the account of UPF, Ronal said.
He said that KRA-U has already submitted required documents in connection with joining UPF.
But the government is yet to assess the number of actual number of its cadres which is far more than 21. He also informed that nine cadres of KRA-U have been expelled from the organization for their misconcts.
The expelled cadres are Lunmang, Lunmang alias Robin, Paocha alias Rollen, Dehlal alias Ray, Paothang alias Thoi, Lampao alias Zefferson, Seibem, Kaminlen alias Rass and Paochungnung alias Veer.
Stephen Kuki Thadou, CO, KRA-U and Jacob Chongloi, Home Secretary were also present during the press conference.
