Road repairing starts at Sekmai

Repairing works on a village road at Kanglatongbi, which was damaged by flood, began under the supervision of Sekmai MLA Heikham Dingo and PWD.
The village road situated near Kanglatongbi temple, National Highway 2 was damaged by the currents of Thumkhong river which flowed down from Makhan last month.
MLA H Dingo along with Manipur Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Kongkham Robindro, Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meitei and PWD officials inspected the repair works yesterday.
During the inspection trip, MLA Dingo said that repairing works were taken up with the help of PWD as the road is an important route for Kanglatongbi and the condition of the road has improved so much that people can now travel by foot on the road.
He also added that retaining works and riverbed cleaning works will be taken up at the earliest also.
He further informed that Kanglatongbi Shantipur and Loitang Khunou roads have been black topped.
The MLA conveyed that he has proposed the conversion of Kanglatongbi High School into a Higher Secondary School.
A multipurpose hall will also be established in the area within the 3/4 years as well, Dingo added.
