Two suspected Dengue cases detected

Imphal, July 02 2018:
Two suspected Dengue cases have been detected at Thoubal district's Lamding Cherapur and Wangjing Tentha.
Even though whether they are Dengue cases or otherwise can be confirmed only after testing blood samples at the laboratory of JNIMS Microbiology Department, blood sample test done at Swiss Clinic, Wangjing Keithel has confirmed the infections to be Dengue.
After the infection was confirmed to be a case of Dengue, the infected person from Lamding Cherapur was taken to JNIMS on June 28 .
However, as the patient's health condition further deteriorated, he was shifted to Shija Hospital on June 30 .
Nonetheless, his blood sample has been tested at the laboratory of JNIMS Microbiology Department and the result is awaited.
Likewise, as the infected person of Wangjing Tentha too showed symptoms similar to those of Dengue, his blood sample was tested at Dengue Clinic and it was found positive.
The patient is currently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital.
According to information received from the Medical Directorate, fogging exercise has been already carried out at Lamding Cherapur as the particular infection was suspected to be Dengue.
