NH-39 expansion affected committee condemns negligence of State Govt

Lamkang Khunou Village NH-39/AH-01 Expansion/Construction Affected Compensation Committee has strongly condemned the negligence of the State Government which despite of several reminders and requests has not acted to mitigate the grievances of the affected land owners/villagers that are still aggrieved due to 30% of their compensation amount being diverted to other account, said a press release issued by its chairman, Sk Momo Darnong.
The village authority of Lamkang Khunou came to know recently that the State authorities in collusion with one P Johnson, s/o (L) P Ibobi of Lambung village and Lamkang Khunou village ex-chief, J Khalnung and his assistant chief SS Khalnong have withdrawn and diverted 30% of the total compensation amount and distributed the remaining money to the affected land owners/villagers of Imphal-Moreh road of Lamkang Khunou area, it alleged.
The village authority and the said committee have requested several times to the concerned authorities to arrest all the person involved in the matter and to pay the full compensation amount to the land owners/villagers, however, the action taken up by State Government is not satisfactory, it said and maintained that the committee and village authority have resolved not to cooperate in any developmental works taken up in Imphal-Moreh road until the remaining due share of 30% compensation are paid.
It is also resolved that several agitations and protest will be taken up if the State Government remain mum regarding the issue, it added.
