Martyrs' Day

The State will observe Martyrs' Day at GM Hall here tomorrow from 10.10 am to 11.04 am in memory of those who gave their lives for India's freedom.
According to a press release issued by Deputy Secretary (Home) Dr Th Charanjeet, three Bhajans would be sung from 10.10 am to 10.55 am.
A siren would be sounded from 10.59 am till 11 am as signal for observance of two minutes silence and another siren would be sounded from 11.02 am to 11.03 am as closing signal.
It appealed to all citizens to observe two minutes silence as soon as the first siren is sounded until the second siren.
Citizens are expected to stand up wherever they are for observing two minutes silence and all vehicles on highways are expected to come to a halt during the same period.
It further informed that Governor Dr Najma Heptulla and Chief Minister N Biren will grace the Martyrs' Day function as chief guest and president respectively.
