Tribal villages joins Irabanta abduction JAC

The JAC constituted against the abductio /disappearance of contractor Irungbam Irabanta has decided to expand as well as to carry on with their agitation after serving an ultimatum to the Chief Minister.
A public meeting was held today at Nongdam community hall under the aegis of the JAC and it was attended by representatives of UCM, IPSA, NIPCO, COHR, WACAK, AMKIL, PLMPAM and HERICOUN.
The meeting was also participated by the people of Nongdam village and surrounding villages including New Salem, Laikoiching Tangkhul, Moirangpan, Thayong, Itham, Moirangpurel and Nongpok Heirok.
The first resolution of the meeting was expansion of the JAC.
The next resolution was to serve an ultimatum to the Chief Minister and launch agitation of all sorts based on the response of the Government.
It was also agreed to seek assistance of civi1 organisations so as to make the agitation effective and successful.
38 year old Irungbam Irabanta of Nongdam Mailing Leikai has been missing since he left home on May 27. He used to supply sand and stone to Ansal Limited which was constructing Maphou Dam.
Even as NSCN-IM has denied their involvement in the abduction of Irabanta, both the JAC and the family members have not been convinced.
