Two day National Workshop concludes

The valedictory function of the two day National Workshop on "Research and Publication Ethics" organisedby School of Education, Manipur University (MU) was held at the Centenary Hall of MU today.
Today's valedictory function was graced by Prof RA S Kushwaha, Dean of School of Human & Environmental Science MU, Prof RK Hemakumar Singh, Dean of School of Engineering MU, Prof Laitonjam Warjeet Singh, Director of Research & Development Centre, MU and Prof T Inaobi Singh, Dean of School of Education MU and Prof N Aruna Devi, Dean of School of Humanities, MU as the presidium members.
Dr Ch Ibohal Singh, Head of Department of Library & Information Science, MU gave a session on "Open Access Publications" and M Lokendro Singh, Assistant Librarian of MU shared practical knowledge on "Plagiarism".
As the last speaker of the morning session, Prof S Dorendrajit Singh, Department of Physics of MU delivered a lecture on "Database and Research Metrics" .
Dr L Santosh Singh, organising secretary of the workshop presented a brief report of the workshop and the participants also shared their experiences.
In yesterday's inaugural function, Prof Amar Yumnam VC (i/c) of MU, Prof Vanlalngak, Head of Department of Philosophy, NEHU Shillong, Prof M Ranjit Singh, Chairman of Institutional Human Ethics Committee, MU and Prof T Inaobi Singh, Dean of School of Education, MU attended as the presidium members.
Prof Vanlalngak delivered the keynote address on the topic "Ethics in Research and Publication" yesterday while Dr L Bishwanath Sharma, Head of Department of Philosophy, MU gave a lecture on "Ethics and Its Place in Research" in the evening session.
Prof W Nabakumar Singh former Dean of School of Human and Environmental Science, MU also shared his valuable and insightful thoughts on "Research Integrity and Publication Ethics" and Prof Naorem Okendro Singh, Head of Department of Basic Science, CAU, gave a presentation on "Design to Identify Research Misconduct and Predatory Publication" .
The workshop was attended by 300 teachers and research scholars from JJT University Rajasthan, JNU Delhi, Sharda University Noida, Manipur University of Culture Imphal, Punjabi University, NEHU Shillong, Delhi University, DMU Imphal, Avinashilingam University Coimbatore, DAW Indore and from various departments of Manipur University and 19 colleges from Manipur.
