Imphal, January 16 2021:
Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Vungzagin Valte, who is also in-charge of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts, launched COVID-19 vaccination drive for Churachandpur district today at Churachandpur District Hospital campus and gave out the vaccination certificate to the first three beneficiaries of Covishield injection.
The program was organized by District Administration, Health Department and District Health Society, Churachandpur.
Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, the Minister applauded the district administration, medical doctors and, frontline workers who risked their own life during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Vungzagin Valte urged the people to understand and follow the guidelines associated with the administration of this vaccine and not to put the blame on the medical departments.
Speaking to media persons, the Minister said that the DDOs of all the departments of Government of Manipur and its PSUs have been instructed to intimate the exempted list of employees on the record of their service books to the income tax office.
Tribals working in the specified areas are exempted by section 10(26) of Income Tax Act, 1961 and there is no question of submitting ST certificate every year, he added.
It may be mentioned that Churachandpur district received 210 vials or 2100 doses of Covishield vaccine.
Out of 3399 persons registered for vaccination, 100 persons of Health Department were injected with Covishield shots today.
V Hangkhanlian, MLA Churachandpur A/C; Ginsuanhau Zou, MLA Singngat A/C and Chairman, MANIRADA attended the function as presidium members.
Mannuamching, DC, Pherzawl; Khaikhopau, ADC, Churachandpur; Dr Sreedhar, WHO consultant from Centre, District Level Officers and public leaders also attended the event.
THOUBAL
COVID-19 vaccination drive for Thoubal district was launched by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, N Bandana Devi, IAS at Thoubal District Hospital, today.
The programme jointly organised by District Administration Thoubal and District Health Society Thoubal was attended by Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Dr N Jayantakumar Singh; Superintendent of Police Thoubal, Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh, MPS and District Family Welfare Officer Thoubal, Dr Ksh Memcha Devi as presidium members.
It was also attended by staff of District Health Society, doctors and health workers.
District Hospital Thoubal, Medical Superintendent Dr Ch Memcha received the first COVID-19 vaccine jab.
Out of 3032 Health care workers registered for vaccination, 393 persons of District Hospital.
Thoubal were vaccinated today.
BISHNUPUR
Another COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched at District Hospital Bishnupur by DC Bishnupur, Neeta Arambam.
It was attended by SP Bishnupur Priyadrashini Laishram; CMO Bishnupur Dr L Gojendra; District Hospital Bishnupur MS, Dr N Bino Singh and members of COVID-19 Task Force Bishnupur.
297 registered persons of the district will be vaccinated in the coming 3 days.
SENAPATI
COVID-19 vaccination for Senapati district began today at District Hospital, Senapati for the district Health Care Workers including the Chief Medical Officer.
It was attended by Dr Golmei Apwon Kabui; Dr M Sokha, District Immunization Officer (DIO) and Medical Superintendent, District Hospital; Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, Chief Medical Officer, Senapati and Th Kirankumar, IAS, DC, Senapati as presidium members.
Out of the 1,130 doses of Covishield vaccine allocated for Senapati district, 100 health care workers are engaged for vaccination in the first phase.
UKHRUL
COVID-19 vaccination drive for Ukhrul and Kamjong district was launched today at Ukhrul District Hospital by MLA Khashim Vashum, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Joseph Pauline Kamson; CMOs Dr AS Kapangring and Dr Sirawon Hungyo; Additional SP Ringthing Hongchui; MS Dr Reisangmi Raikhan and WHO Consultant Dr Tejpalsinh Anandrao.
In the first phase, 1623 health workers from Ukhrul and 985 persons from Kamjong will be vaccinated.
Vaccination will be carried out in all PHC, CHC (Talui, Teinem, Lambui, Chingai, Khangkhui, Jessami, Phungyar, Kasom Khullen, Somdal, Kamjong), private hospital Leishiphuiig and CHRSC hospital, Ukhrul.
Dr AS Kapangring receive the first Covishield shot and was followed by 54 District health workers.
TAMENGLONG
COVID-19 vaccination drive for Tamenglong district began at Tamenglong District hospital Duigailong in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame; Superintendent of police Tamenglong Mohurle Sandip Gopaldas and Chief Medical Officer Tamenglong Dr Chambo Gonmei as presidium members.
It was also attended by World Health Organisation (WHO) Consultant Dr Rajendra Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer Tamenglong Mahesh Chawdhuri, ADM Tamenglong Kajaigai Gangmei, District Immunization Officer Dr Sunil Kamei' and Chief Medical Officer Noney District Dr Gracy.
Dr Chambo Gonmei received the first Covishield vaccine shot.
CHANDEL
Similarly, COVID-19 vaccination drive for Chandel district was launched at an event organised by District Health Society Chandel in District Hospital Chandel, today.
Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS; CMO Chandel, Dr Serthani Serbum; Chandel SP, N Madhunimai Singh and SDO Chandel, St Riithung Anal attended the programme as presidium members.
It was also attended by Dr Pallab Bhatacharya, WHO consultant; Dr Laskmi Thumlip, DIO Chandel; Dr Joyson Mathew Monshang, MS Chandel; Augustine Khongsai, ASP Chandel; T Ranjit, DPO, ICDS Chandel; Jasha Premi DPM/NHM Chandel; DTFI committee members and staff of Health, Family Welfare and NHM Chandel.
Nursing Superintendent, Ts Khingarh received the first shot, followed by 54 health workers.
