Public support needed to make developmental works effective and successful says former CM 0 Ibobi

Various developmental works and programme taken up by the concerned Govt of the State cannot be successful and effective without the active support and participation of the public specially the private organisations who have to play pivotal role to bring development and growth of the Iregion, said former Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
The former CM stated this statement while attending the silver jubilee celebration of Rural Voluntary Services (RVS) at Wangbal Mayai Leikai, Thoubal District, as Chief Guest and stressed on the active role of Non-Profitable Organisations of the State in shaping up a progressive society in the larger interest of the people.
Such NGOs (RVS) are actively engaging in providing help and support to HIV/AIDS infected people and to other poor families of the State, he added and said that the foreign funding organization such as MACS and State organizations have been putting all their efforts including the other NGOs of the State not only to control the spread of the dreaded HIV/AIDS disease but to eradicate it from Manipur.
He also appreciated the various initiatives taken up by RVS regarding HIV/AIDS.
Supporting the statement made by the Secy of RVS that many NGOs toiled hardship to extend support to the concerned persons as the release of budgeted fund required to run the organizations have often been delayed by Govt of India and State Govt, the former CM Ibobi Singh said that many shelter home in other developed country in South Asia are efficiently run by NGOs.
Secretary Rural Voluntary Services (RVS), Babita Sapam while delivering the significant point undertaken by the organization said that RVS has been continously extending help to poor people specially the women from different villages of Manipur since 1993 including the HIV/AIDS infected persons and added that the organization will continue to extend support to such kind of persons in future.
As part of the function, children of "Eramdam Ningol Sanglen" run by RVS presented different cultural dances while senior citizens and other underpriviledged people were honoured with modest gifts.
The function was also attended by retd teacher Kh Biramani Singh, MLA Khangabok Assembly Constituency Okram Surjakumar Singh, Social Scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram and ex-member MPSC L Manao Singh as presidium members.
