To give a firm hand in dealing cases of vehicle theft, Manipur is likely to be connected with the network of the Motor Vehicles Co-ordination System of the National Crime Control Bureau, NCRB.
This was disclosed by SP M Santoshkumar of Criminal Investigation Department, Manipur Police while talking to mediapersons today.
He was talking on the sideline of the concluding function of the two-day training programme of the State police personnel to familarise with the system.
SK Tanwar, senior programme of NCRB which is under Union Home Affairs Ministry imparted the training to the police personnel.
Elaborating on the benefits of the system, Santoshkumar said that the data based system would enable the police in getting information or tracing a stolen vehicle even from beyond their jurisdiction besides putting a tab on the activities of the vehicle dealers.
