The public of Tamei sub-division in Tamenglong district and dwellers along the I.T.Road are facing immense hardship due to a major landslide that had cut-off the areas from the rest of the State.
Reports said that a major landslide occurred on August 25 at a place 38/39 miles from Kangpokpi along the IT Road thereby disrupting passenger bus services other means of transportation.
Some transporters including two passenger buses are now stranded at Tamei due to the landslide.
Commuters of the areas have to either reach the district headquarters for the next day�s bus or cross the landslide spot to find whatever available means of transport on the other side.
Leading NGOs of the areas have appealed to the State and other authorities concerned to address the problem at the earliest.
Meanwhile, reports from adjoining villages of Tamei said that �foot to mouth� disease of cattle is spreading fast in the area.
Reports from Langmei village, situated at about ten km south-west of Tamei, also said that cows are the worst affected lot with sours in their hooves and mouths.
A good number of cattle is reported to have died of the disease.
