Manipur Loumi Lup (MLL)'s 30th state conference held

The 30th state conference of Manipur Loumi Lup (MLL) was held at Rupmahal Theatre here today.
After a minute discussion on major issues prevailing in the state, MLL decided to press concerned authorities not to politicalize issues over allocation of funds under the state and centrally sponsored schemes for the welfare of farmers; to remove AFSPA; to implement Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act in urban areas; to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur; to arrest and punish illegal drug dealers, etc.
The conference also decided to launch various movements until fulfillment of these demands.
Entrusting the task of materialize these demands decisions to newly elected office bearers of MLL, the conference further demanded payment of compensation for crops affected by Loktak project; extension of zero interest loans to farmers and payment of Rs 3000 monthly pension to farmers of 60 years old and above.
Secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI) Manipur State Council, Dr M Nara Singh; In-charge of MLL and Ex Minister N Mangi Singh; President in-charge of MLL Th Bijoy Meitei; Working President of MLL S Nilakomol; Vice President of MLL H Ibobi and Assistant Secretary of CPI, Manipur State Council L Thoiren Singh were among other who attended the conference as presidium members.
