Chinzak fest inaugurated

The 10-day fourth Manipur Chinzak (food) Festival organised by Innovative Youth Development Association has been inaugurated today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
The inauguration programme was attended by Parliamentary Secretary (YAS & Tourism) M Prithiviraj Singh and Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan Singh as the chief guest and president respectively while Parliamentary Secretary (MOBC/Sc&Tech) Md Amin Shah and Yaiskul AC MLA E Chand Singh graced the occasion as the guests of honour.
Noting that the festival is providing a common platform for the people to taste cuisines of different indigenous communities, M Prithiviraj expressed that such an event would also be helpful in enriching the cultures and traditions of Manipur besides strengthening the fraternal bond.
He also called upon the festival participants/stall runners to prepare the tastiest dish without compromising quality and hygiene.
As a part of the opening ceremony cultural items were also staged by different groups.
The festival has a total of 40 stalls displaying a number of dishes.
There are separate sections for vegetarian and non-veg items.
