Imphal, August 18 2013:
For the Indian National Congress, Seva Dal is one of the most important frontal organisations.
It is an old, trusted and well-disciplined organ of the party which no other parties can simply emulate, stated Chief Minister O Ibobi who is also the CLP leader.
Ibobi was speaking at the closing function of a week long North East Zonal Congress Seva Dal Training Camp organised by the Manipur Pradesh Congress Seva Dal at Retreat House, Mantripukhri.
Around 150 Seva Dal workers coming from different Northeastern States participated in the training camp.
Ibobi stated that the zonal level Seva Dal training camp was organised at a directive of AICC with MPCC taking the lead roles.
As long as Seva Dal remains strong, Congress party would continue to gain strength, claimed Ibobi.
Rejoicing that AICC has given recognition to some Seva Dal workers of Manipur, the Chief Minister highlighted the need to organise similar training camps at district level for raising the number of Seva Dal workers.
MPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam stated that the training camp was organised with a view to protect unity and integrity of the country.
He exhorted the Seva Dal volunteers to be honest, dedicated and they should work with a sense of unity and sacrifice for the cause of the nation.
Later, Chief Minister O Ibobi administered oath to all the participants pledging that they would work selflessly.
