Kpi COVID-19 infection surge to 36, police gear up to enforce SOPs

Kangpokpi, April 29 2021:
With 15 new positive cases detected today, infection of COVID-19 in Kangpokpi district surged to 36 while the fatality remained at 17 since the first wave.
Workers and officials of LECKON Infra Pvt Ltd who are stationed at Kangpokpi District Headquarters for construction of four lanes were the worst infected with the COVID-19 second wave till now.
Considering the alarming surge of COVID-19 infection in the district, Kangpokpi District Police have geared up in enforcing Covid appropriate behaviour.
Kangpokpi police personnel were seen at various locations monitoring the movement of public at Damdei, Kholep approached road, Mangjol village, etc.
Meanwhile, the newly posted Officer incharge of Kangpokpi Police Station, Inspector Henminthang Kipgen immediately embarked on checking violators of Covid appropriate behaviours in Kangpokpi town today.

A police team led by OC Kangpokpi detained people without wearing face masks and released them later with strict warning of appropriate action if they continue to defy the guidelines issued by the Government.
Inspector Henminthang Kipgen along with a team of police personnel also gave awareness to the public on the SOPs and guidelines of COVID-19 and exhorted to strictly abide by the advisories.
The police team also closed all business establishments at 5 pm while cautioning them to stay indoors from 7pm onwards apart from emergencies.
The District Administration Kangpokpi would also reportedly organise a meeting of Assembly segment Covid Awareness cum Enforcement Committee tomorrow, chaired by the local MLA of Kangpokpi AC at the Conference Hall of DC Kangpokpi.
Superintendent of Police Kangpokpi; Chief Medical Officer Kangpokpi; Sub Divisional Officers of Kangpokpi, Champhai and T Waichong; Sub Divisional Police Officer Kangpokpi; Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kangpokpi; leaders of Kangpokpi local bodies including KTC, KWWO, KYU and other health workers & officials would attend the meeting.
