Blood donation, awareness campaign

18 Sikh of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) in association with 'Lions & Lioness Club of Imphal' and department of IHBT, RIMS conducted a Blood Donation Camp today at Lions Eye Hospital, Sangaipro Village near ISKON temple.
Brig Navneet Kumar, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles graced the occasion as chief guest of the function and reiterated the importance of voluntary blood donation to the gathering, said a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).
The voluntary contribution by the doctors and the technical staff of RIMS made this event a great success.
During the occasion, maximum number of troops from 28 Assam Rifles, 18 Sikh Regiment and 143 Bn CRPF also donated blood.
Apart from the army personnel, volunteers from RDO College of Nursing, Lamsang, School of Community Nursing Lamsang, School of Nursing, Khabeishoi and Nightingale Nursing Institute, Porompat also donated blood.
18 SIKH ensured all arrangements for the Volunteer blood donors.
In another occasion,15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) organised a Awareness programme on Health � Hygiene and Baby care today at Thoubal wherein over 100 ladies with their children and more than 150 school children from Thoubal area attended the awareness camp.
Medical officers of the Unit delivered a detailed awareness lecture on Health, Hygiene and sanitation.
Special emphasis was given on water borne diseases and guidelines to lady villagers on Child care.
Discussions on water prone diseases and child care also carried out.
