Pathetic roads in Tamenglong irks ZSUM

Irked by the alleged indifferent attitude of the concerned authorities on the deplorable road conditions in Tamenglong district, the Zeliangrong Students Union Manipur (ZSUM) said today it will start taking up stringent measures in this regard.
Stating this stand, ZSUM publicity secretary Z Victor Hugou said they had inspected time and again along the IT Road from Kangppokpi to Tamenglong district headquarters and found the road is extremely in a bad shape.
Meanwhile, ZSUM warns the concerned authorities and the engaged contractors to execute the work to bring all round development in the district in par with the other districts of the State.
Earlier, the ZSUM team comprising of 15 members had inspected and noticed sub-standard construction of the double-lane road along Kangpokpi to Tamei and Tamenglong to Tamei much to the disappointment of the public.
The Union had apprised the concern NEC Tamenglong division for necessary further instructions to all the engaged contractors along the stretches from Tamenglong to Tamei via Tamei-Kangpokpi, but much more disappointment continues on the worksite when the Students Union inspected again from March 4 to 6.Knowing the ground reality of the work during the first inspection, The Union keeping in good-faith had given directives to the concern department to let every contractor and the engaged engineers to station themselves at the worksite so as to reason together for the better quality maintenance of work.
On further approach to the concern department, the Union found lack of response that mounts more to the grievances of the people as well.
Z Victor Hugou said ZSUM will exercise its decisive role to intervene at every of the disappointing worksite after three days of this publication for immediate halt of the work if the union doesn't find the concern contractors and the approve engineers on the worksites.
It further warns if any commotion and eventuality occurs the State Government should solely be held responsible.
