Imphal, March 13 2014 :
Disturbed by the reports in newspaper about the brisk sale of licensed gun, PFA Thoubal expressed concern that the wild life population would be affected with the brisk sale of guns.
"We beg all the licence gun holders of the valley and hills of the State to stop abusing the guns by hunting wild animals," a statement issued by the PFA said.
Pointing out that hunting activities have been carried out in valley and hills alike by people including Govt employees, the statement said that the consequences of such illegal practices on the ecology are beyond imagination.
Wild animals have their own purpose in maintaining ecological balance.
Hence, they should be preserved, it said.
