CSOs urge Govt to redress grievances

In a meeting held between Haochong PHC Staff and various civil organizations today, a number of grievances faced by the people of Haochong sub-division were brought forth.
The various civil organizations/CSOs of Haochong sub-division under Noney (Longmai) district has therefore urged the concerned authorities to look into the poor infrastructures of the said Sub-Division.
The all Inpui Students' Union (AISU) and the Haochong Village Authority had expressed the grievances faced by the public due to inadequate infrastructures in the Haochong Sub-Division.
There is lack of proper road and the schools and PHC are in bad shape, the CSO said.
The SDO/BDO office is also incomplete it added and subsequently urged the concern authorities to look into it.
Haochong PHC is unable to function normally due to the shortage of staff said the MO in-charge Dr Kamei Kajaipu.
At present, there is no peon and sweeper which has made it difficult to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the PHC during this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
There are also different positions of doctors (3), nurse (2), lab technician, peon, sweeper and HMIS assistant which are vacant, said the MO in-charge.
The construction work of Haochong SDO/BDO Block office which began in the year 2018 remains incomplete and defunct.
The Haochong Govt High school also has no teachers for maths, science, computer science and hindi, it informed.
They also expressed anguish over the pathetic road condition which is the only link between the District HQ and Haochong, it added.
