All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation has appealed for immediate lifting of the bandh being called by Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) as well as the blockade of All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) in view of the impacts on the academic career of the students.
Talking to mediapersons at its Palace Compound office, Organisation president Y Renghang Chothe pointed out that Manipur is lagging behind in education and frequent imposition of bandh and blockade has caused hurdle in the efforts being made for development of education in the State.
Renghang said ongoing bandh and blockade has also caused lot of inconveniences to the students who are preparing for the Compartmentary examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education scheduled on July 18, Old Course and Compartmentary Examination of Class X of the Board of Secondary Education Minister scheduled on July 20 .
On top of this, the due date for submitting the form for taking eligibility certificate for admission to class XI and TDC First year is July 25, he noted.
He also appealed to the Government for paying special attention and bring about an amicable solution so as to end the ongoing bandh and blockade.
