Imphal, July 17 2009:
Stating a number of reasons for rising in revolt and killing nine of their colleagues on June 21, at the 1st Bn camp of the proscribed KYKL, based outside India, leader of the runaway group, S/S captain and now CO, Rishikanta, said that the cadres revolted because they did not agree with the activities of the KYKL.
Speaking to newsmen, somewhere at Thoubal district on July 14, Rishikanta said that all the cadres have reached their destination safely and added that nine members of the KYKL, including the CO (a Lt Col), one Lt, NCOs and privates of the Bn were killed in the revolt.
Rishikanta added that a new outfit christened KYKL-Military Defence Force, (MDF) has also been formed by them.

Spelling out their stand, Rishikanta said that they would use the name KYKL but the military wing will be called MDF.
The KYKL-MDF will also use the previous letter head of KYKL.
Explaining why they revolted and decamped with guns and ammos from the 1st Bn, Rishikanta asserted that it was done, because they want to live and struggle as true revolutionaries.
Detailing, the CO said that Lt Col Wangba, who had dedicated his life to the cause, was done to death by members of a gang at Delhi, at the behest of KYKL leaders.
Wangba was killed on trumped up charges, alleged Rishikanta.
The very act of hiring gang members, who are enemies of the people, to kill Wangba, was an act of cowardice, he claimed.
When Lt Col Wangba was the commander of ONK, he was made a scape goat when he unearthed mark tampering in Manipur University, said Rishikanta.
Supreme commander of the KYKL, N Oken had also apologised to the public, that what Wangba did, was wrong.
MU Prof Md Islamuddin was killed, because he did something right, but it hurt the KYKL, claimed Rishikanta, further.
Going on the offensive against the KYKL, Rishikanta alleged that it has been pulling wool over the eyes of the people for long and countered why the public have been not been raising any question against them.
Supreme commander of the KYKL, N Oken and publicity secretary, Lanngamba, will not bring good to anyone by reading high brow books and adapting its ideas to play games, said Rishikanta.
On the other hand, such games will only lead to bloodshed among the people, he claimed.
Sounding a stern warning, the CO said that if any hurdle is placed before the KYKLMDF, then it would strike out against all which have links with the KYKL.
All armed groups are now in the race to earn money, alleged Rishikanta, adding that they have evaded the question of uniting.
Since the armed groups are not united, the public too are divided, he observed and questioned why the people are so apprehensive of raising questions against the armed groups.
Stating that the gun culture has beaten the people into quiet submission, Rishikanta urged all to open up and assured that if the people gather the courage to say that they no longer want the armed movement, then KYKL-MDF will gladly hand over all their arms to anyone named by the public.
To the KYKL-MDF faction, it is far better to live for only one day as true revolutionaries, he added.
The leader of the KYKL-MDF also paid respect to the nine people who were killed in the revolt on June 21 .
They were killed in the struggle to move to the true path of revolutionaries and not as enemies, he said and added that they share the pain and grief of the bereaved family members.
Rishikanta made it clear, that the new outfit, KYKL-MDF, has been formed not because anyone wants to be leaders but to move to the true paths of revolutionaries.
The quest to step into the right path of revolutionaries was what led to the formation of the new group, said the CO.
A number of people, who had true revolutionary qualities, have been eliminated on false charges by the KYKL, he alleged and countered whether this is right.
Rishikanta also alleged that a number of KYKL members no longer tread the path of revolutionaries.
A number of officers in the KYKL have discarded the ideals of revolutionaries and are today supping with prosperous businessmen, he further alleged.
Today the KYKL is the source of all ills, said the CO and added that all these factors led to the formation of the KYKL-MDF.
The formation of the KYKL-MDF is like opening the door to all true revolutionaries, added Rishikanta.
Stating that the KYKL-MDF will continue with the struggle to win back the lost sovereignty of the land, Rishikanta also said that the public too should put in their best mite towards this end.
