Kisama, December 05:
Nagaland Finance, Tourism and Excise Minister K Therie dismissed the charges that some of Rios Cabinet Ministers were allegedly arming NNC and the NSCN (K) faction to disturb the ongoing political dialogues between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM).
Talking to NEPS here on the sideline of the last day of the five-day long Hornbill Festival, Therie strongly criticized those officials of the Union Home Ministry for making wild allegations against the Rio Government through media.
How can we do (providing arms and supporting NNC and NSCN-K) such things, the Minister pointed out saying, This is absolutely unfounded and baseless.
Interestingly, the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil had reportedly asked Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to rein some of his Cabinet Ministers who had allegedly arming and supporting the NNC and the NSCN (K).
Therie, on his part, didnt believe that the Union Home Minister had said such words while meeting Nagaland Chief Minister in New Delhi.
It may be noted that the collective leadership of the NSCN (IM) had refused to re-visit New Delhi on the ground that it (New Delhi) had armed the rival NSCN (K) while pursuing political talks with them.
The outfit had charged New Delhi of indulging into double-standard policy.
