DHMS, Tamenglong provides health care to villagers

Health camp under District Mobile Medical Unit (DMMU) was conducted yesterday at Duiluan village Part I by DHMS, Tamenglong.
The medical team was accorded warm welcome by Luankhuanang Panmei, village chairman and Peilalung Kamei, secretary, Duiluan (Wairangba) Village Authority, Tamenglong.
The team consisted of Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO/DMD,Tamenglong, Dr Guidiathiu Kahmei, DTO/MS In-Charge, District Hospital, Dr Gaiduanreiliu Gangmei, MO, DH and other paramedical staff.
Altogether, 75 patients were given free medical treatment and medicines.
Before the examination, Dr Guidiathiu Kahmei spoke on DOTS Strategy said that TB treatment is free under RNTCP and incentives will be given to the patients on completion of 6 months treatment of DOTS while DOT provider will also get incentives.
'Regular and adherence of DOTS treatment strategy will definitely cure Tuberculosis (TB) disease.
There are four DMCs (District Microscopy Centres) in Tamenglong district.
One at DTC, Tamenglong, CHC Nungba, PHC Noney and PHC Tamei," Dr Guidiathiu Kahmei said.
Sputum examination is free of cost and anybody suffering from cough for more than one week should go to the DMC for diagnosis.
TB drugs are free of cost, he said.
He also emphasized on routine immunization of children between 0 � 5 years and they should be fully immunized.
Zero dose of Hepatitis-B vaccine, polio drops and BCG should be given at birth.
Dr Chambo Gonmei, CMO said the pregnant mother should undergo at least 3 Antenatal check ups (ANC) at the nearest health centre or during village health day.
Under JSY scheme, pregnant mother will get Rs 700 for institutional delivery and Rs 500 for home delivery.
ASHA should guide the mother for JSY entitlement and should open bank account during her first ANC for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Likewise ASHA should also open her bank account.
She is also entitle to get Rs 600 benefit for accompanying the mother till the mother delivers the baby, he informed.
He also dwelt on JSSK scheme for mothers.
Under JSSK the pregnant mother is entitled to receive free cashless treatment and will be exempted from all kinds of user's fee.
Free pick up and free drop by ambulance (from home to health centre and after discharge from health centre to her home), free transportation of Rs 1000 from the first referral centre/hospital to the tertiary hospital for further management.
Free provision of blood transfusion, free drug consumable of Rs 350 for normal delivery (Rs 1600 for C-section), free diet of Rs 100 (up to 3 days of stay after delivery), free diagnostics of Rs 200 and free treatment from her first visit at the health centre/hospital till the time of delivery and discharge.
It also applies the same free treatment to the sick newborn up to one year of age, Dr Chambo said.
